Breaking boundaries with integrity

Graduating from the University of Western Australia in 1997, she was awarded the prestigious Orthodontic Prize in her final year. She later completed a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry at the University of Adelaide and is a sessional member with the State Administrative Tribunal —a reflection of her commitment to lifelong learning and strong professional ethics.

As a self-proclaimed “CPD junkie,” Dr Dee continually invests in professional development. Her advanced training includes a mini-residency in orthodontics with Dr Derek Mahony in Sydney, among many other courses across Australia and abroad. She regularly attends conferences and hands-on workshops to ensure she and her team remain at the forefront of modern dental techniques and technologies.

Her commitment to learning is matched by her dedication to giving back. Through her volunteer work with TIMA (Tzu Chi International Medical Association) and St Patrick’s Community Support (Fremantle) Dr Dee provides dental care to vulnerable and underserved communities—extending her impact far beyond the walls of her clinic.

Dr Dee-Anna Luong

BDSc W.Aust., GCertClinD Adel.

Principal Dentist

For Dr Dee-Anna Luong, dentistry isn’t just about teeth—it’s about trust, transformation, and long-term wellbeing. With over 25 years of clinical experience, Dr Dee blends advanced skill, artistic precision, and heartfelt care to deliver results that are both meaningful and lasting.

At the heart of her approach is a simple principle: great dentistry should protect what’s natural, feel comfortable, and look beautifully, unmistakably you. Through gentle techniques and a conservative philosophy, she works to preserve as much healthy tooth structure as possible—so results feel natural, last longer, and truly suit you.

That same ethos defines Alma Dental Surgery: a calm, modern clinic where patients of all ages feel safe, understood, and genuinely cared for.

Dr Dee is especially passionate about:

  • Early intervention orthodontics for children
  • Braces and clear aligner therapy (including hybrid approaches)
  • Cosmetic smile makeovers using conservative techniques
  • Natural-looking restorations and aesthetic dentistry
  • Jaw joint and muscle disorders (TMD)
  • Endodontics (root canal treatment)

Dr Dee’s treatment philosophy centres on preserving long-term oral health while enhancing each patient’s natural beauty. She often begins with alignment—recognising that a well-balanced bite provides the foundation for cosmetic improvements that are more conservative, refined, and sustainable. Her goal is always to create results that are not only healthy and functional, but visually in harmony with each person’s unique features and personality.

A caring local leader

Since founding Alma Dental Surgery in North Perth in 2014, Dr Dee has created a warm, welcoming practice where patients feel truly cared for. Drawing on her wide-ranging experiences—from rural clinics and government health services to high-end private practices and university teaching—she has developed a clinic culture that blends clinical excellence with a genuine, family-like atmosphere.

Outside the clinic, Dr Dee balances a full family life—raising three boys from kindy to young adulthood. Parenthood gives her a grounded empathy that helps her connect with patients of all ages. She stays energised with running, Pilates, travel, music, and audiobooks, and thrives in the vibrant, health-conscious community of North Perth.

Whether in dentistry or in life, Dr Dee’s guiding principles remain clear: lead with honesty, act with kindness, and never compromise on quality—of care, connection, or outcome.
